Life and times of a fashion blogger
Posted by: | CommentsJanuary 5th and I’m trying to think up new ways of working! Being a Aquarian through and through my genetic make-up tells me to challenge the established views, systems and set up new inventive ideas.
The inventor in me can be a real challenge at times. A part of me wants to turn left and discover some unchartered territory while the other part says ‘hey girlie, what about paying the rent, savvy!!!’ But what if planet Earth is going to blow up on December 21st let’s just throw everything out of the window and really GO FOR IT!!!
Actually the true Hopi and Mayan elders did not prophesy that everything will come to an end on 12-21-2012. Rather, this is a time of transition from one World Age into another. Time to rethink who we are, what we do and how we are in the world, our community.
On this note I have been thinking about trading skills at DSUK. Have you got the kind of personality we are looking for at DSUK? Bright, Bubbly, Enthusiastic, upfront and great at selling? There are a number of jobs for girls and guys within Designer Sales UK, working on the shop floor is one job or how about taking photographs at the sales or working on our social media. Anyone got a Luton or sprinter van and want to do some driving for us to and from Brighton?
We would swap your skills for clothes. For instance, if the job usually paid £100 you would receive £100 worth of clothing as a trade swap.

Put some forties glamour in your wardrobes this Autumn.
Posted by: | CommentsFashion is known for its notoriously cyclical tendencies; to bring about classic trends from the past and re-create them with modern twists; this is certainly the case for Autumn/Winter 2011 as there is a great revival of forties glamour this season to insert a little extra femininity into your wardrobes. Its a much welcomed trend to us here at DSUK as we love how it’s all about statement and the empowerment of women; its a trend that due to tailored items and delightful accessories is able to celebrate all aspects of the female form, from the curvier woman to the more petite lady, you won’t find it hard to pull of this gorgeous look regardless of size or shape. There’s a strong emphasis on furs, blouses, hats, pearl accessories and gloves all centred around a classic staple to a woman’s wardrobe…the pencil skirt.

Does the gloomy forecast make you think ‘i will never spend again’! or are you more of a ‘sod it, let’s blow the inheritance’! or ‘perhaps one little westwood and then i promise to not buy again for at least ummmm…. a couple of weeks’!!
Hey some say money is energy and we need to keep circulating it, buying and selling, trading, isn’t that what we’ve done for millenia! Perhaps the smart thing right now is to look at how we can trade with each other, swapping and trading skills for payment – then we can all wear fabulous clothes and feel good about ourselves.
