DSUK are really excited to have Mary Portas’s Save the children stand at our forthcoming sample sale at the Chelsea Old Town Hall on Thursday 24th June.  Lesson your fashion footprint and bring along a designer donation for Mary’s ‘Save the Children’ stand before bagging some fabulous new Summer editions to your wardrobe.  This has to be the best guilt free shopping around!

As well as taking in your lovely designer donations, Save the children will also be selling some pretty fab and desirable vintage pieces on sale at great prices.  Elbows at dawn ladies and gents!

Make a day of it and go visit Mary Portas & Grazia magazines ‘Living & Giving shop’ in Westfield London after your visit to DSUK.  You could find some real designer treasure from labels Prada, Burberry and Luella Bartley to name just a few, donated by American Vogue’s editor Sarah Mower.

This is a designer label shopping trip worth making!

Designer Sales Uk is not just content to offer amazing discounts on top designers such as Prada, Ossie Clark, Airfield, Vivienne Westwood, and John Galliano, we are also extremely excited to announce that we will be teaming up with the Body Shop on 24th June at the Chelsea Old Town Hall, King’s Road, London, SW3 5EE.

With the added benefit of the Body shop on board customers at the sale will be able to get mini-makeover’s and all the best beauty tips for the summer from those in the know. They will also be bringing along their delicious new summer products and handing out free samples, what more could a girl want!

Designer Sales UK presents our fabulous performer Dangerous Dolly at our forthcoming Sample Sale on Thursday 24th June at The Chelsea Old Town Hall, King’s road, London SW3

Dolly is DSUK’s no 1 fan and loves shopping with us, so what a treat to have her performing at our Chelsea sale.  Dolly’s performances range from cheeky burlesque to twisted and dark aerial creatures where she uses her imagination to push her performances to places that few would dare!

Dolly will be wearing a stunning outfit on the day, we can’t wait, make sure you sign up for our invitations now as this day is going to be extra special!

At my last sale in Brick Lane we decided to do some extreme make-up with our customers.  I emailed all my client base and chose three fab models out of a huge list of applicants.  Pamela Cochrane, London Fashion week make-up artist,  came and worked the magic!   Our  models Patchoulee, Justina and Mark looked wild, see their pics on our  dsuk facebook page.  A local paper came and wrote about the whole event,

THE ‘Lady Gaga’ effect has come to London’s East End this weekend with the latest ‘people’s catwalk’ show with top names selling off the rack with as much as 90 per cent discount.

Top labels up for grabs at Designer Sales UK being held today (Sat) and tomorrow at the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane include Allegra Hicks, Vivienne Westwood, Galliano and Dior for men as well as women.

Another great piece written in Stella Magazine in The Sunday Telegraph about DSUK, here’s the quote,

“DSUK sample sales take in young, cool labels and sell them alongside treasure from Alexander McQueen and Stella McCArtney.  They’re staged in London and Brighton” – “DSUK is on of the 30 best places to Buy Lux for Less” Thank you Sunday Telegraph!

‘Where London’ magazine did a fab feature on me & Designer Sales UK for their back page article ‘The Last word/my london’.  I felt very honoured and really enjoyed pulling out some of my favourite haunts in London.  Its such a wonderful city!

Elaine Foster-Gandey has always worked in Fashion; from her first job in press for Jasper Conran, to her career as stylist and journalist, progressing to organising catwalk shows, she knows everyone and everything there is to know in the business.  Which is why her foresight to organise warehouse sales of surplus stock and samples has been such a success – designers love it and shoppers can’t get enough.  Little wonder with discounts of 90% off labels such as John Galliano, Prada and Vivienne Westwood…..Here are her tips on making the most of your stay in London.

Don’t Leave London without visiting..

1. York Hall steam baths

2. Clissold Park

3. Harrods Food hall

10. The next DSUK event happening at The Chelsea old town Hall on June 24th.

So you’ve had enough of all this election fever and for god’s sake,  no one has actually won!  and what’s a hung parliment anyway?  Yes we’re going back in time folks, to 1974 to be precise, when Ted Heath tried to hold on as PM but had to resign and Harold Wilson took over! hey you never thought you’d get a history lesson here! The thing is we need to dig deep into our wardrobes and get with the 70′s vibe, long flowing dresses, loud prints and hey what better place to come and check out the styles than other fashionistas’s  wardrobes than at our recycling event.

DSUK are partnering with the much acclaimed buy my wardrobe event tomorrow, 8th May at the prestigious Supper Club at 12 Acklam Road, London W10.   Tickets are £5 on the door, 1-4pm, but if you come after 3pm and quote DSUK you can come in for free.  Elbows at dawn ladies!

We are back in Brick Lane this week with a seriously well stocked sale.  I have had an endless stream of last minute sign ups which are sending me mad, why are designers so unorganised?  I love you all, but honestly, a woman just can’t get on with running a business with all of this lastminute.com!  Off course i’m never last minute, says she slightly blushing, well i  don’t intentionally mean to cram so much on my plate that i run around like a headless chicken.  Well that reminds me, chickens – lets not start talking about my flock of chickens – i have so many eggs, they are laying about 8 a day!  Anyway, back to business and Designer sales UK.  The line up is absolutely splendid and i’m excited!  Men’s Gucci knitwear, Men’s Armani coming and New DSquared for the guys, all at between 50-80% off retail prices.  Just confirmed, superfine Leathers from SealKay for guys at just £50, denim £40 and t’s all starting at a Tenner!  Womenswear, the list is endless, our usual, Westwood, Galliano, Margiela, great new pieces and really good mark downs.  Am hoping a shipment of Galliano handbags will arrive in time, flights pending. Bikkemberg bags for Men and Women plus lots of accessories, very scrummy.  Have to run now, more headless chicken stuff, see you at the sale!

BBC 2 are making a new documentary and want to talk to you if you can say yes to any of the following statements;-

‘Would you spend your last penny on a designer handbag?’

‘Is your collection of clothes and accessories taking over your home?’

‘Is fashion your absolute passion?’

The new documentary series is about Life and money and will explore people’s attitudes towards their finances, painting a unique picture of how a range of people feel about money in the 21st century.  They would like to hear from you for an informal chat, in confidence, about spending and your relationship with money.  Contact tara.nolan@bbc.co.uk

Think this could be a great opportunityx
