A wonderful weekend!
Posted by: | CommentsAfter such a fantastic weekend in Chelsea over the 2nd-4th March, at DSUK we felt inspired to mention a little about how wonderful our customers are and how much we enjoy holding our sales at the Chelsea Old Town Hall. What was delightful to both see and hear over the busy three days was some familiar faces from back in the days of Brick Lane who simply adored our new venue space at The Chelsea Old Town Hall. After initially being greeted with queries about the change of venue, it soon became clear to our long time loyal customers as they took a look around the exquisite surroundings of the Chelsea Old Town Hall as to why we had made the move. Although Brick Lane holds fond memories for us here at DSUK, we can’t help but pleased with our new venue! The high ceilings, warm colours and elegantly designed fixtures and features make The Chelsea Old Town Hall perfect for bringing gorgeous items at bargain prices to all you fashionistas out there!

Posted by: | CommentsHere at DSUK we are getting incredibly excited about our first sale of 2012 on Friday 2nd March to Sunday 4th at The Chelsea Old Town Hall and all the fabulous stock we’ll be bringing to you, our wonderful customers! There’s going to be some great new stock full of colour and vibrancy to really get you ready for Spring/Summer this year…and it’s exactly what we’ll need to brighten up our wardrobes once the rainy winter months have passed! Yet worry not, lovely DSUK customers as we have a few tips on how to style up some of the great stock we’ll be bringing to you this March!
Idea 1 -

Sophia Kokosalaki silk blouse
This gorgeous electric blue blouse from Sophia Kokosalaki is reminiscent of the fabulously bright blues that were popularly worn during the 1950s. Therefore, at DSUK we reckon that this blouse would look great paired up with a high waisted black pencil skirt. A thick black waist belt (we suggest that if you can find a lovely vintage one with a gold buckle, buy it! as it would match up beautifully). To continue with the 1950′s look add a simple black scarf that can be tied round your head and to really finish off the funky fifties style add a cute little satchel bag and some stilettos of your choice. Plus, if you fancy adding to this adorable look even more, go for some luscious curls in your hair and paint on that red lipstick girls!
Idea 2

Margiela, grey wool knit.
This great grey, woolen knit dress from Martin Margiela has many wonderful ways in which you style queens out there could wear it. However, here at DSUK one of our favourite ways to wear this great piece is to dress it up; we suggest that you add some gold statement, chain necklaces paired up with some gold bangles to add a bit of sparkle. Team the dress up with a pair of black leggings/tights or some great floral statement tights to really take the outfit up a gear. Then throw on a tailored black blazer/jacket, some killer heels and make like the fabulous Edie Sedgwick with smoky eyes and think black eyeliner with nude lips to really pull this look together.
Idea 3 -

Kokosalaki knitted dress
At DSUK we think that this lovely knit from Kokoslaki just oozes sophistication, and despite this being a beautiful piece from Kokosalaki, we think that if accessorized right you lovely DSUK customers will look like you’ve just stepped out of a Chanel photo shoot. Wear this dress with black tights, black bow pumps, a long pearl necklace and some pearl bracelets with a quilted chain bag. Then to really finish off the Chanel look add a black ribbon to your hair, nude eye make-up with a little eyeliner and rouged lips to really showcase your femininity and style. With a look like this we can guarantee that men will be falling at their feet everywhere you go!

Winter accessorising!
Posted by: | CommentsNow that December has whizzed by in a flurry of, relaxing days on the sofa, over eating, seasonal parties and most importantly those sexy seasonal party outfits, the time has still not come for this winter’s sharp mornings and crisp nights to be done with us yet! And Im sure like us here at DSUK you style queens out there are wanting to make sure that despite the winter weather, you stay looking fabulously fashionable with the season’s hottest looks. One way in which us here at DSUK love to make our winter outfits more exciting is by matching them with the perfect winter accessories!

Great fedora from Gucci
Now a sensible girl knows that its important to keep your heads warm in the winter and it just happens to be a blessing that hats in all different shapes and styles are a big trend this Autumn/Winter! With nostalgia big on the catwalks for this season’s trends its no surprise that hats such as fedoras to add some of that 70s glam, and berets to show some sixties style are big for accessorizing your winter wardrobes!

This season's berets from Burberry
Not only are gorgeous hats great for accessorizing your heads this season, but knitted headbands and ear muffs are also another great and fun way of adding a bit of warmth to your outfits on a cold day. To really add to the strong sense of nostalgia that ran through the catwalks earlier in 2011, at DSUK we love a good old vintage looking cable knit and what better way to accessorize yourselves beautifully than with a cable knit headband, teamed up with a matching or complementary set of ear muffs! So go on girls accessorise, accessorise, accessorise! You can guarantee you’ll be kept warm and looking fabulous!

Great headbands on a budget from ASOS

Put some forties glamour in your wardrobes this Autumn.
Posted by: | CommentsFashion is known for its notoriously cyclical tendencies; to bring about classic trends from the past and re-create them with modern twists; this is certainly the case for Autumn/Winter 2011 as there is a great revival of forties glamour this season to insert a little extra femininity into your wardrobes. Its a much welcomed trend to us here at DSUK as we love how it’s all about statement and the empowerment of women; its a trend that due to tailored items and delightful accessories is able to celebrate all aspects of the female form, from the curvier woman to the more petite lady, you won’t find it hard to pull of this gorgeous look regardless of size or shape. There’s a strong emphasis on furs, blouses, hats, pearl accessories and gloves all centred around a classic staple to a woman’s wardrobe…the pencil skirt.

Designers at Gucci showing us how its done!
Here at DSUK we love this look and believe that its a true testimony to the undying world of fashion, it proves that despite the hardships of that time and regardless of the fact that fabrics were difficult to come by, women still made sure they looked fabulous with whatever they had; it was an era that enforced one of DSUK’s favourite mottos and that is recycle your clothes! With tailored clothing to compliment your form, stunning accessories to add a bit of splendour to your outfits and modest hem-lines that are sure to keep you warm and elegant its no wonder that the decade of glamour has re-appeared in our shop windows this season. One of our favourite combinations you should try out is to mix a black pencil skirt with a gorgeous coloured pussy bow blouse (colour is in this autumn!) some delicate pearls and a classy pair of long sleeved gloves. Plus, if you really want to add to this look and make yourselves look radiant throughout the dreary months then team up matted skin, strong, defined eyebrows and rouged lips to really bring out the 1940s diva within. So come down to our sale at The Chelsea Old Town Hall, London on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd of December to grab yourself some great bargains that could add a bit of ‘forties glam’ to your wardrobes!
