How to save money on Designer clothes!
Posted by: | CommentsHere at DSUK we know how important it is to you stylish ladies out there to keep yourselves looking gorgeous yet at the are able to keep on pinching those pennies. So for you fabulous fashionistas, here are a few tips from DSUK on how to save money on Designer clothes.
You could start your bargain hunt to beauty on common online auction sites such as e-bay, not only does it give you the chance to set your own prices and have the chance of bagging new clothes at cheaper prices but you can also shop from home with a cup of tea in hand and take your time. However, it can be rare to find great designer pieces on websites such as e-bay and if you’re a shopper who would rather try before you buy, then samples sales are more the place for you.
It’s always a good idea to do your research on the sample sale you’re planning on going to as it gives you the chance to prepare yourself on what you’re willing and not willing to spend. First of all, find out the kinds of designers the sample sale will have, whether it be Vivienne Westwood, Martin Margiela or Gucci you must make sure that there will be designers available whose work you’re a fan of. Next bit of research is to find out how big the company’s discounts are and to which labels the greatest markdowns apply. Once you’ve got all this information it gives you the chance to be aware of the budget you wish to set yourself, time to save in advance and best of all means you can purchase designer items without breaking the bank balance.
A few final tips on keeping the purse strings tight but the wardrobe doors wide open; once you’ve wondered around and found yourself some beautiful designer pieces that you feel you just can’t be without make sure you try on! Don’t go rushing straight to the till with your beautiful pieces of clothing, instead head straight to the changing rooms as they may not always look as beautiful on! Before you invest in a luxury piece of clothing you will want to make sure that the quality is what you expect and that what you’ll be wearing is both comfy and fits beautifully. This will make sure that your buy to wear ratio is pretty even and you aren’t left feeling guilty about that designer splurge!
Hope these idea help you Queens of fashion to find yourselves some great clothes at even greater prices!

Does this recession stop you from shopping?
Posted by: | CommentsJust wondering what people feel right now about this recession and money? Does the gloomy forecast make you think ‘i will never spend again’! or are you more of a ‘sod it, let’s blow the inheritance’! or ‘perhaps one little westwood and then i promise to not buy again for at least ummmm…. a couple of weeks’!!
Hey some say money is energy and we need to keep circulating it, buying and selling, trading, isn’t that what we’ve done for millenia! Perhaps the smart thing right now is to look at how we can trade with each other, swapping and trading skills for payment – then we can all wear fabulous clothes and feel good about ourselves.

Design duo Viktor and Rolf’s fabulous designs now at DSUK
Posted by: | CommentsDSUK is very excited to announce that we will soon be stocking some beautiful pieces from Viktor and Rolf.
The creative double act of Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren are known for their amazing concepts and ability to turn the classical rules of luxury and beauty upside down. I’d definitely recommend watching videos of their previous shows in particular “Russian Doll” and “Flower Bomb” were a couple of my personal highlights but I’m sure once you’ve watched one you’ll want to watch all of their shows because they are so varied in what they do.
Viktor and Rolf are primarily known for their outstanding couture pieces but have developed a stunning ready to wear line and in 2006 collaborated with high street store H&M. Their ready to wear line lets them show off their ability to cut incredibly flattering shapes. Their beautifully finished shirts are to die for and would be a great addition to anyone’s wardrobe.

Tired of feeling that fashion is for the super skinny??
Posted by: | CommentsDancers on the DSUK catwalk!!
Tired of feeling like fashion is for the super skinny and the incredibly tall? Well no more, it’s time for real people to take to the catwalk.
Designer Sales has always loved getting real people up on that catwalk to strutt their stuff. This is a chance to show that fashion really is for everyone. We feel fashion should be fun and a celebration of real people and who you are regardless of size, shape, age or ethnicity.
On the 20th of May Designer Sales UK will be hosting another great sale at the Brighton Hilton Metropole not only is it going to be an opportunity to grab some amazing bargains but we will also be hosting a catwalk show hoping to inspire you with some exciting looks for this spring/ summer and beyond.
The show will feature some of the beautiful garments available to shoppers but we’ve added a twist, all our models will be dancers. We hope that this will show our support for a healthier image within fashion.
What do you think about our idea to use dancers rather than models? Do you think the fashion industry is embracing the idea of using ‘real looking’ models? Should they change to using more real looking models? We’d be really interested to know what you think about this issue so please let us know.
